Title: Justice for the Women of Juarez
WHEREAS U.S. Policies negatively impacts the U.S. and (Juarez) Mexican border, in particular Mexican and indigenous women resulting in horrendous abuse, culminating in murder of over 425 of these women;
WHEREAS the creation of these economic conditions has translated and evolved into "femicide," the killing of women because they are women, and created a climate of fear and mental instability;
WHEREAS these conditions and abuse and murders has gone virtually unnoticed or documented;
1. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the National Latino Congress urge elected officials to not forget these women who’s dreams like all of ours have been cut short;
2. FURTHER RESOLVES to call for a full cross border investigation by U.S. and Mexican police officials to solve the murders of the women of Juarez, and bring to justice those responsible.
