WCVI Latino Issues Conference Examines Prospects for
Immigration Reform in a Time of Conflict

Renowned experts will analyze prospects for new immigration
reform as the country prepares for war.

WHO:

Los Angeles, CA- As the country prepares for war, the anti-immigrant sentiment is rising and the repercussions threaten to derail gains in U.S.-Mexico relations. Will the U.S. impose stricter border controls? Will there be an anti-immigrant backlash? Is immigration reform dead? Experts will provide an in-depth analysis on the prospects for immigration reform during the William C. Velásquez Institute 10th, annual Latino Issues Conference 2001, attended by hundreds of elected officials, corporate, labor and community leaders.

The William C. Velásquez Institute Latino Issues Conference 2001, a two-day public policy issues conference and workshops analyzing issues affecting the lives of Latinos such as redistricting, access to healthcare, affordable housing, the war on drugs, public education reform, community development and the energy crisis.
