WCVI training school for candidates,
elected officials and campaign managers/workers

WCVI will conduct two-day training sessions designed to prepare and provide insight to Latino’s who are running for local elected office and Latinos who will manage a political campaign. The Latino Academy Candidate training retreat will also provide an intensive training to individuals who are running for school board, special jurisdictions, local, county, and state level office. Candidates will learn everything there is to know about winning an election:

 Managing Local election campaigns
 Message Development
 Delivering your message
 Identifying issues for an effective platform
 Public speaking techniques
 Fund Raising Techniques
 Using voter files
 Building local volunteer base
 Absentee, early vote (where appropriate) techniques
 Much more!

WCVI will sponsor the training program, provide one night hotel stay, two-meals per day, and all training materials. Selected participants must agree to attend the full intensive two-day training in its entirety, pay transportation to and from the training retreat and pay a nonrefundable application fee of $35.00. WCVI is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, established in 1984 to conduct research on the Latino electorate, Latino political trends and provide public policy options facing Latinos in the United States. It is the sister organization of the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP).

Latinos are making a difference in governance and American democracy across America. WCVI is looking for talented individuals who care about their communities and are interested in servicing as public servants in their respective communities.
